Advanced Fan Temperature Controller - On/Off & Variable Speed

Component Temperature Controller
Plugs Inline Between Power Supply & Cooling Units

This is a microprocessor controlled unit for sensing the temperature around components and controlling the fan speed based on that temperature.  This unit is easily installed inline between the power supply and cooling units and monitors and controls the fans which optimizes the functionality of the cooling system.

By strategically mounting the sensor where heat accumulates, the fans will sit idle (off) until the temperature rises above 80 degrees and then the fans will quietly turn on (no harsh rev up) and then the fan speed will increase as the temperature rises.  When the temperature goes below 80 degrees (F), the unit will shut off until the temperature rises again.

The entire unit can be placed on a component or the Temperature Sensor can be pulled out approximately 14" for remote sensing.  The unit can also be mounted using Velcro or double stick tape.
The unit operates on 12V DC Voltage and can be used to control multiple units. Use one transformer and one temperature controller to control multiple products.  The unit utilizes the Fast Wire system for easy installation and universal application.

Features

  • Microprocessor ControlledThis is a highly 'intelligent' unit that monitors various aspects of the fan and the 'environment'.  The unit calculates fan parameters on power up and then controls and regulates the fans based on those calculations.
  • On/Off Based On Temperature.  This unit turns the connected fan units on and off based on the temperature at the probe.
  • Remote Sensing.  The temperature probe extends approximately 14" from the unit for remote sensing.
  • Variable Speed Based On Temperature.  The unit varies the speed of the fans based on the temperature at the probe.
  • Different Modes of Operation.  By Default, the unit is in program Mode 1 which should be correct for most applications.  This mode features  On/Off Capability at roughly 75°F and varies the fan speed based on Temperature with max speed achieved around 105°F.  Mode 2 is for more aggressive applications as the max speed is achieved more rapidly and full speed at  95-98°F.  This mode should only be used when most aggressive cooling is a necessity.  Modes 3 & 4 are typically not used at this point.
  • Alarm for Fan Operation.  The alarm feature is primarily to provide an audible alarm if the fan unit/s become unplugged.  In some applications, the alarm will sound if the fans stop spinning – this will not occur with all configurations due to variances in fan tolerances and loads.
  • Polarity Protection.  This unit will not be damaged by reversing polarity.  The unit will still not operate but damage will not occur.  As with all of our products, align 'Tip' to '+' on the ends of the connectors.
